In a sudden twist, the horse was cheated by the snake which was wrapped around its hoof, causing it to lurch back in fright. Despite the setback, the resilient horse claimed seventh place.

The coin’s reverse portrays a striking scene of galloping horses thundering through splashing water, from the distance to the foreground, surrounded by a canopy of ginkgo branches with leaves. Also included in the design is the inscription ‘2026’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
