2024 5 Mark Valkyries: Solveig Valhalla Germania Mint 1oz Silver Coin

Introducing Solveig, the third coin in the Valkyries series from Germania Mint. 2024 Valkyries: Solveig refers to the Germanic goddesses, daughters of Odin, who, according to Germanic mythology, supported the bravest warriors who fell in battle. Solveig symbolizes the summer awakening, and with her comes a new beginning.

Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak, the coin will be issued in an edition of 25 000 pieces. Its originality will be confirmed by the included Certificate of Authenticity.

The obverse

On the obverse, Solveig, the Sun goddess, is accompanied by a fearless and courageous bear. The Valkyrie herself wields an axe in her hand, and is clad in leather skirt and straps that wrap around her body, as well as iron epaulettes and bracelets. She is adorned with the Rune of Sowilo – a symbol of warmth and energy, allowing her to be born again in glory.

The reverse

The reverse again presents the design, which is a combination of Germania Mint’s characteristic double-headed eagle, with the goddess’s animal – a bear. The shield, which takes into account the year of issue, the metal alloy and the denomination, features Germanic runes.
